The new animated adaptation of Mystery 101 will feature Tyler Hynes and Kimberley Sustad as the new leads, taking over the roles previously played by Wagner and Polaha. Hynes will play the role of detective Travis Burke, who is tasked with investigating a series of mysterious crimes in Garrison, while Sustad will play the role of Amy Winslow, a mystery fiction professor who becomes embroiled in the investigations.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of this exciting new project,” said Tyler Hynes. “Mystery 101 has been such a beloved series for so many people, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to bring a fresh new perspective to the show. I have to give a sincere nod to Kristoffer Polaha’s portrayal of the character Travis Burke. He set the bar high, and I’m excited to take on the challenge of filling his shoes.”

Kimberley Sustad echoed Hynes’ sentiments, saying, “I’ve always been a huge fan of the Hallmark mystery genre, so getting to be a part of this new animated adaptation of Mystery 101 is a dream come true. I have to acknowledge Jill Wagner’s portrayal of the Amy Winslow character. She brought so much charm and depth to the role, and I’m excited to put my own spin on the character of Amy Winslow.”

Hynes is no stranger to Hallmark, having starred in several of the network’s popular movies over the years, including It’s was Always You and last year’s hit Three Wisemen and a Baby. He has also appeared in a variety of other TV shows and movies, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

Sustad, meanwhile, has also made a name for herself in the Hallmark universe, having starred in several popular movies such as The Nine Lives of Christmas and A Godwink Christmas. She has also appeared in a variety of other TV shows and movies, showcasing her range as an actress.

The new series will be written by John Christian Plummer, the write of all seven episodes of the original series. Plummer’s previous credits include the hit series, The Curious Caterer (the newest episode also due out this summer) and Francesca Quinn, PI. Fans can rest assured that they will be in good hands with Plummer at the helm, as he brings his signature style of suspense and intrigue of Mystery 101 to the new animated series.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of this exciting new project,” said Plummer. “Mystery 101 is such a beloved series, and I’m honored to be able to continue its legacy in a new and innovative way. I can’t wait for viewers to join us on this thrilling new adventure.”

Actor Robin Thomas will reprise his role of Graham Winslow, Amy’s father. While details are still under wraps, fans can expect to see some familiar faces and stories.

Fans of the original Mystery 101 series may be wondering why the show has decided to switch to an animated format and introduce new lead actors. According to Hallmark, the decision was made in order to appeal to a wider audience and bring a fresh perspective to the beloved series. The animated format will allow for more creative freedom and flexibility in terms of storytelling, while the new characters will bring new energy and excitement to the show.
